Endemic Location: Southern Brazil and parts of Uruguay

Adult Size: Approximately 5.5"-7.5"

Lifespan:  6 years for males and 20-30 years for females.

Info: This is a slow growing and docile species often referred to as the "black lab" of the hobby.  However, they can be skittish at times.  This species has an impressive feeding response and boasts some stunning black coloration.  They spends most of their time on display making it a great choice for someone new to the hobby.
