Endemic Location: Central Africa, Cameroon/ Congo / Gabon / Guinea

Adult Size: Approximately 6"-7"

Lifespan:  2-4 years for males and 10-12 years for females. 

Experience Level:  Intermediate

Info: This is a fast growing species.  This is a large stunning brown species that is known for it's speed and defensive nature.  This species to known to live near river banks and can even swim to catch prey under the water.  This species has also been successfully kept in a communal setup with great success.  When provoked they will threat pose and often stridulate (hiss) by using special bristles between it's fangs.
