Lifespan:  5 years for males and 25 years for females.

Info: This is a fast growing species.  They are considered the one of the largest tarantula in the world and while generally a calm species they can be very skittish and if provoked can kick hairs.  The Theraphosa Genus is known to have some of the most irritating urticating hairs.
