Endemic Location: Brazil Southern Brazil – Rio Grande do Sul; Santa Catarina; Parana in the valley of the Rio Grande river. Uruguay, Argentina

Adult Size: Approximately 8"-9"

Lifespan:  6 years for males and 15-20 years for females. 

Experience Level: Beginner

Info: This is a slow growing and docile species that can be skittish at times.  This species has an impressive feeding response and boasts some stunning black and deep red colorations.  They spends most of their time on display making it a great choice for someone new to the hobby.
